AMI and NAMA Submit Comments on Proposed OSHA Injury Reporting Rule

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

(American Meat Institute)

AMI and the North American Meat Association (NAMA) submitted comments opposing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) proposed rule requiring employers to electronically submit injury and illness information currently entered in the 300A, 300, and 301 Forms directly to OSHA. The comments argue the proposed rule is duplicative and "a solution in search of a problem." AMI and NAMA also contend that OSHA has not demonstrated how workplace safety will be enhanced by the rule, which would lead to additional work and costs to comply, and would potentially violate company and employee privacy rights.
