Mexico Signs Agreement to Export Beef to ChinaTuesday, October 14, 2014

The Mexican Ministry of Agriculture announced that Mexico and China have signed an agreement permitting the export of Mexican beef to China. The agreement, signed during the recent Mexico-China Commission meeting, also seeks to strengthen inspections and certification procedures. Exports to China are expected to begin before the end of 2014.
Mexico is the second largest market by volume for U.S. beef and beef variety meets, importing $1.17 billion for the U.S. in 2013. U.S. beef exports to Mexico from January-July, 2014 are 23 percent higher compared to the same period in 2013, and are up 36 percent in value.share on facebook share on twitter
