Last week, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer testified before the Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means to discuss the Trump Administration's trade policy and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Democrats in the House questioned him about labor and pharmaceutical provisions in the USMCA - dealing with enforcement - that have proven to cause obstacles toward a vote on the trade deal. Throughout the hearing, Lighthizer tried to mitigate lawmakers' concerns by committing to work with Congress to get a fully enforceable deal on USMCA.
